Once an installation is taken down the modules become regulated waste under the WEEE rules, so they cannot be skipped or sent to landfill, but the glass, aluminium, silicon and metals inside can be reused. PV Recycling recovers them, collecting photovoltaic panels from sites across the city and feeding what comes out back into the supply chain.
